Giannirakis earned her degree in sociology and criminology from John Carroll University with a minor in entrepreneurship. She currently works for the Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy Center as a youth program advocate focusing on assisting youth with educational advocacy, crisis management and behavioral and therapeutic interventions. The organization works with the greater Cleveland community to educate about domestic violence and advocate for justice to end the abuse. Previously, she interned with the Legal Aid of Arkansas and American Bar Association’s Commission on Immigration. Additionally, she acquired volunteer experience at a juvenile detention center in Cleveland, Ohio. She is focused on public service, including immigrant and refugee rights, criminal justice system reform and women’s rights.
